for Sheridan County, State of Wyoming, of lawful age, being first
duly sworn, on oath state.
That on or about the 26th day of December, 1928, I was in
charge of the records and files of the office of the Clerk of the
District Court, due to the fact that Anna B. Smith, Clerk of the
District Court was absent from Sheridan County, on that date and
that I was acting in my official capacity as Deputy Clerk of the
District Court.
That upon the date above stated, one C. A. Gillette, called

at the office of the Clerk of the District Court in search of the
Honorable James H. Burgess, Judge of this Court. That the said
C. A. Gillette remained in said office until Judge James H. Burgess

estate. That such files were never returned to the office of the
Clerk of Court after that date and although diligent and thorough
search has been made both in the office of the Clerk of Court and
in the office of the Judge of the District Court, no trace of said
files can be found. That I believe said files have been removed
from the court house and that no receipt has been signed for same.

assessed upon said real property for the year 1932 remained due
and unpaid at the date of such sale hereinafter named, and whereas
the treasurer of the said County did on September 15, 1933, by
virtue of the authority vested by law at the sale begun and publicly
held on September 15, 1933, expose to public sale at the court house
in the county aforesaid, in substantial conformity with all the
requirements of the statute in such case made and provided, the
real property above described, for the payment of the taxes, in-
terest and costs then due, and remaining unpaid on said property,
amounting to seven and 84/100 dollars, and whereas, at the time
and place of such sale said real property could not be sold for
the amount of taxes and costs of advertising due on the same, the
said treasurer then and there bid in and purchased said real property
for the County of Sheridan, Wyoming, for the amount of the taxes
and costs aforesaid, and thereupon issued a Certificate of Purchase
to said County, and whereas, four years have elapsed since the date
of said sale, and as the said property has not been redeemed there-
from as provided for by law; now, therefore, I. Isabel Kemple,
treasurer of the county aforesaid, for and in consideration of
the said sum to the treasurer paid as aforesaid, and by virtue
of the statute in such case made and provided, have granted, bar-
gained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell,
unto the said County of Sheridan, the real property hereinbefore
described, to have and to hold unto the said County of Sheridan
forever, subject, however, to all the rights of redemption provided
by law, and due and regular notice of the expiration of the time
